Oman Insurance Company (OIC), one of the leading insurers in the Middle East, has announced today the launch of a new High Risk Travel Insurance product with War and Terrorism Cover included, making it one of the first insurers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to provide this cover as standard.

OIC’s High Risk Travel Insurance is a specialised insurance solution designed to address the unique challenges that organisations face when operating in potentially hazardous areas of the world, such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt and many others.  The policy provides protection for a company’s employees and their belongings, covering lost or stolen items, accidents and medical emergencies, including risks from riots, insurrection, war and terrorism.

Typically, War and Terrorism cover is specifically excluded from Travel and Personal Accident insurance products which make OIC’s High Risk Travel Insurance so unique.

The policy was designed with infrastructure and property development companies in mind, as well as those involved in the energy sector, given the nature of their overseas operations; however, it is available to any UAE-based organisation with employees travelling to high-risk regions. It is a flexible product which is offered for both individuals or groups and is available for short or long periods. As it is pre-underwritten, cover can be arranged quickly and at short notice.
