The Law Respect Culture Bureau, at the General Secretariat of the Office of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior participated in a training course to qualify staff to be warrant officers. The course was held at the Federal Police School in Sharjah, and aimed to provide its members with the key skills to walk through their career life.
Lt. Colonel Dr. Hammoud Al Affari, Deputy Director of the Bureau said that the law respect culture is a cultural aspect that every law personnel should understand the meaning and contents of the law, and believe in the need to enforce it on both personal and professional levels.
He added: “The inclusion of the law respect subject in the qualification and promotion system reflects the keenness of the Ministry to educate its staff and raise their law awareness, by setting the right foundation of law education, and understanding that law is applicable to them as it is applicable to others, and that is the key element of stability and elevating the status of their community.”
First Lieutenant Nasser Al Kaabi said: “These lectures aim to establish the law respect culture among all police staff at all ranks and career levels.” He explained that a policeman’s knowledge of his rights and duties is very important to enable him do his job with high professionalism, and to help him avoid any mistakes and law violations. This knowledge transfers him from the theoretical phase of the law into the practical phase where a policeman practices his duties within the limits and boundaries of the law. This is performed with the aim to fight crime, follow the offenders after the crime while being aware, at the same time, of duties and legal obligations within the law respect frame and the rights and freedoms of the individuals in a way that serves the public interest.
Al Kaabi mentioned that the responsibility of a policeman to respect the law and enforce it in a civilized manner, makes it a must for him to be a role model, pointing that the psychological effect that he leaves in others by his respect of the law and enforcing it at all levels, had positive and effective impact on all individuals.
