A Delegation from the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA), headed by Mariam Obeid Al Ari, Head of Development and Institutional Excellence Department and Specialist Eman Ibrahim Al Bloushi from the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, reviewed the strategy, objectives and mechanism of the MoI’s Benchmarking Center.
It is worth mentioning that the delegation recently visited the MoI’s Benchmarking Center. Lt. Colonel Mubarak Al Kaleeli, Director of the Benchmarking Center and a number of officers from the center welcomed the delegation.
Director of the Center gave the delegation members a detailed explanation on the work mechanism followed at the center, the framework and how it interrelates with the strategic plans, as well as the management of comparison requests and their use in elevating the levels of performance. This could be achieved by working on opportunities for improvement, strategic initiatives, and awards of excellence; developing new departments; identifying potential partnerships for comparisons and the means to identify best practices through Assessment and Communications Section; and preparing researches and studies undertaken by the Studies Section at the Center.
He also gave a brief overview of the Benchmarking Center, pointing out that it is a measurement and development process achieved by comparing its performance with the performance of best global organizations, deducing and learning the best applied practices.
Moreover, he noted that the MoI’s Benchmarking Center has developed an initiative in the strategic plan 2008-2012 in order to improve the overall performance, so that simplifying the process of sharing and applying best practices across all government entities in the State would be one of its duties.
Furthermore, Al Kaleeli indicated that the center was designed to enable the Ministry of Interior and Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters to carry out benchmarking comparisons with international best practices and provide its data for various sectors and organizational units of the Ministry, in addition to promoting the concept of benchmarking and applying it as one of the fundamental success factors.
In addition, he provided an overview of the Benchmarking Center’s website which provides an electronic environment to automate all processes of the Center as a database to store and archive all reports resulting from the comparisons.
For their part, the ADFCA delegation members lauded the significant efforts exerted by the MoI’s Benchmarking Center, and the benefits they achieved from this visit. At the end of the visit, commemorative gifts were exchanged.
