While meeting with 120 Community Police Volunteers Who Contributed More Than 1,000 Hours of Volunteer Work

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, met on Wednesday, a total of 120 UAE nationals and residents working as Community Police volunteers, who took part in organizing a number of exhibitions, conferences, seminars, and awareness campaigns, and committed up to more than 1,000 hour of volunteer police work.
His Highness welcomed the volunteers, and expressed his happiness with the social elite of Emirati youth and residents, which joins hands to reflect an honorable image of the UAE befitting its well-deserved stature.
In his address to the volunteers, His Highness said: “Volunteer work for the service of the UAE is the optimal way to show gratitude to this generous bountiful country and leadership, which has provided a comfortable and decent life for everyone, under the umbrella of security and safety that many people dream of.”
His Highness reiterated the government’s keenness to support and expand this volunteer community, so as to become an active partner in the service of the country and its people. He also asserted the government’s commitment to encourage any community-based and national initiative that aims to promote the values of collaboration and development, and boosts the values of work and loyalty. His Highness gave his instructions to encourage this initiative to include all community segments, and to popularize the community police volunteering experience to all police general headquarters across the country.
The meeting was attended by Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police; Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Resources and Support Services; Major General Humaid Al Hadidi, Commander in Chief of Sharjah Police; Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services; Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Human Resources at Abu Dhabi Police, and a large number of officers.
Lt. Colonel Mubarak Bin Muhairom, Head of Department of Community Police, said that volunteer service is a noble humanitarian deed that serves the community. He stressed the commitment of the Department of Community Police to adopt community programs that promote the culture of volunteering and spread the values of social responsibility, in a way that contributes to supporting and enhancing the security, progress and development process in Abu Dhabi.
Lt. Colonel Bin Muhairom asserted the keenness of the Department of Community Police to advance volunteer work, as part of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ strategic initiatives that aim to engage community efforts in enhancing security and public safety in the country.
He stated that a mechanism has been set forth to attract volunteers from all walks of life and invite them to volunteer in order to assist the police in raising awareness of community members, suggest solutions to combat negative phenomena and participate in organizing social events and activities.
Volunteer, Maryam Al Bloushi, gave a speech on behalf of her colleagues and said: “Under Your Highness’s generous support, the Department of Community Police has provided an opportunity to the young men and women of the nation, to take part in community service. Your Highness, we take pride in being the ambassadors of the Ministry of Interior, which constitutes a symbol of the greatness and magnanimity of our community’s human values.”
Al Bloushi addressed His Highness in six different languages and astonished the attendance as she greeted HH in Chinese and Russian, thanked him in Spanish, and spoke Filipino, English and Arabic.
The volunteers expressed their happiness to meet His Highness, stressing that such events encourage and motivate them to double volunteering efforts for the service of community. They emphasized that volunteering service at the Department of Community Police has given them the opportunity to meet new people and acquire valuable skills, knowledge and information.
Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior had already given his directions to launch an initiative under the supervision of the Department of Community Police at the Abu Dhabi General Headquarters, paving the way to volunteer work as a means to preserve security and public safety. The initiative has seen a significant turnout of volunteers, and numbers are still on the rise.
