MoI Signs MoU with SCA about Training, Service Quality and Institutional Excellence

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, April 20th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

The Ministry of Interior signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Partnership with the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA). The MoU strengthens cooperation and expertise exchange between both parties in the fields of service quality, institutional excellence and training. The MoU embodies the government’s vision and strategy of activating partnerships with the different institutions in the UAE to achieve public interest.

HE Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior signed the MoU on behalf of the Ministry of Interior, while HE Abdullah Salem Al-Turifi, Chief Executive Officer, Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) signed the agreement on behalf of the SCA.

The MoU stipulates cooperation between both parties on many fields such as working on achieving the UAE strategy, vision and general objectives, in addition to exchanging expertise and best practices regarding strategic planning, quality, cooperation and coordination. The MoU seeks to serve the benefit of both parties by applying their plans and programs, in addition to achieving their goals and sustaining communication among them to fulfill the common aspirations that benefit the public interest.

Furthermore, The MoU calls for cooperation between both parties regarding training, and presenting initiatives and programs that achieve and provide the interchangeable interest and technological assistance for both of them. These include organizing conferences, and joint scientific and training workshops; developing and enhancing institutional work; achieving excellence of services and its quality; providing joint social services that answer the ambitions of the government; and exchanging knowledge and successful institutional experiments on all levels.

Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far explained: “signing this MoU originates from our belief that today’s work is an institutional work based on a sound methodology; a feature that the UAE Ministries are distinguished for.” He also highlighted the importance of fostering communication and coordination with the SCA and other competent authorities. “This approach is among the important strategic principles that the MoI is adopting to achieve its vision and future aspirations.” Lt. General Al Sha’far said.

Additionally, Lt. General Al Sha’far stressed that the MoI is following the directives of the higher leadership while striving to achieve integration, cooperation, and exchanging expertise and experiments with the local and Federal institutions and authorities. “The MoI is trying to utilize this exchanged information in advancing the efforts of developing safety and security; and the MoI is working to achieve public interest and providing the best advanced services through partnerships with the national service-oriented authorities,” he added.

On the other hand, HE Abdullah Salem Al-Turifi, Chief Executive Officer, Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) said: “The SCA is working effortlessly to strengthen cooperation and advance partnerships with the leading federal authorities and institutions to adopt excellence culture and creative thinking. The Ministry of Interior tops the list of these authorities that we are proud of its bodies’ high level of performance. The MoI has always proven its ultimate ability to apply the standards of distinguished performance while providing services or carrying out its missions and operations. This is clearly shown in the great number of the awarded quality prizes and certificates; a factor that urges us to look forward to utilizing the MoI rich experience in this field.”

Al-Turifi pointed out to the ongoing initiatives of the SCA that aim to advance competitiveness standards to the highest levels in line with the best international practices of distinguished services. The SCA initiatives also fall within the framework of the federal government vision and its strategic tendencies. “The SCA is among the first Federal authorities in adopting the application of quality systems and implementing the creative and cognitive thinking. It is also among the first of those who laid the foundations of excellence and proficiency culture by continuously developing its human resources, uplifting the service performance efficiency, and providing it easily through various channels to all customers when they need it.” Al-Turifi said.

The MoU signing ceremonies were attended by Brigadier Mohammed Khalifa Al Marar, Director General of Undersecretary Diwan at the Ministry of Interior; Colonel Hussein Mahmoud Al Awadhi, Acting Head of the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Interior; Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Saeed Al Mazroui, Head of International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Interior; and a number of officers at the MoI. It was also attended by Mohammed Khalifa Al Hadari, SCA's Deputy CEO for Organizational and Supporting Services Affairs; Dr. Obaid Al Zaabi, Acting Executive Vice President for Legal Affairs and the Issuance; and a number of officials at the SCA.

At the end of the ceremony, both parties exchanged commemorative gifts.
