Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior continued his inspection tour on the second day of the International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014). His Highness inspected many pavilions of national and international companies participating in the Exhibition.
During the visit, His Highness reviewed the exhibits of modern equipment, state-of-the-art technologies, and advanced programs reflecting the latest scientific findings in the sectors of security equipment and systems; safety, security and prevention of risks devices; and the latest technologies related to offering security and safety for community members and providing them with advanced and superior services.
During the tour, a number of exhibitors briefed His Highness on a variety of security systems and equipment that provide security and safety to community members. His Highness expressed great interest in the technologies that demonstrate that the Exhibition has attracted the largest local and international companies in this field.
His Highness tour included the pavilions of OSHAD concerned with environment, health and safety; National Fire Fighting Manufacturing FZCO (NAFFCO); Mubadala; Atlas Group; the Critical National Infrastructure Authority (CNIA); the International Golden Group (IGG); the German Pavilion participating in the exhibition for the first time; Microsoft; Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA); Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development; Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development; and Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla Program for Youth Projects.
During the “Aftershock” live demonstration on responding to crises and emergencies, His Highness surprised a number of school and university students. His Highness chatted with the students and listened to their impressions and perceptions. Moreover, His Highness met with a number of female police officers and a group of people with disabilities during his visit to the exhibition.
Accompanying His Highness during the visit were Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Major General Staff Dr. Obeid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the ISNR’s Higher Organizing Committee; and Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; alongside a number of senior police officers.
MoI Signs Agreement to Purchase Police Vehicles
In response to the directives of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the Ministry of Interior signed an agreement with Qartaja Trading Establishment the official agent of the German company Albert Ziegler. By virtue of this agreement, MoI will purchase a number of police vehicles that serve the security and police work, in different areas of the Ministry of Interior and the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Interior by Brigadier Fares Khalifa Al Farsi, Director General of Guards and Special Tasks at Abu Dhabi Police, and on behalf of the company, by Samir Salman, General Manager of the Qartaja Trading Establishment the commercial agent of the German Company Albert Ziegler (GMBH). The value of the agreement amounted to approximately AED80 million.
Al Farsi stressed that this agreement underscored the police leadership’s commitment to upgrade security services to keep up with the Renaissance movement the UAE is witnessing in various field.
MoI Signs Agreements to Purchase Inspection and Counteraction Equipment
In response to the directives of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the Abu Dhabi Police and Ras al Khaimah Police signed a number of agreements for the purchase of special inspection and counteraction equipment, on the sidelines of the International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014).
Colonel Hamid Al Afrit, Head of the Weapons and Explosives Department at the Directorate General of the Security and Ports Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police signed an AED10 million agreement with Al Hamra Company; an AED11 million agreement with Eye On Technology LLC; an AED4 million agreement with the Gulfnet Communications Company; and an AED3 million agreement with Golden Group Company.
Colonel Al Afrit also signed another agreement to purchase inspection and counteraction equipment for the Weapons and Explosives Sections at Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah Police worth AED3.5 million.
Furthermore, Colonel Ali Sultan Al Zaabi, Head of the Weapons and Explosives Section in Ras al Khaimah Police, signed an agreement to purchase inspection and counteraction equipment for AED6.5 million.
