The Emirati and Omani security committee held a meeting on Tuesday morning at the Hili Rayhaan Hotel in Al Ain, to reinforce joint collaboration in all areas of security.
Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior headed the Ministry of Interior’s delegation, while the Omani delegation was headed by Major General Hammad bin Sulaiman Al Hatimi, Assistant Inspector General for Police and Customs for Operations, in the sister state, the Sultanate of Oman.
In his opening speech, Lt. General Saif Al Sha’far welcomed Major General Hammad bin Sulaiman Al Hatimi, Assistant Inspector General for Police and Customs for Operations, in the sister state, the Sultanate of Oman, and the accompanying delegation to their second home, the United Arab Emirates. He conveyed the greetings of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
Lt. General Saif Al Sha’far said that this coordination meeting is an embodiment of the directions of the higher leadership of the two brotherly countries, and their keenness to advance bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest. This meeting also comes as a continuation of the ongoing communication between brothers to discuss all that can improve the various aspects of joint police and security work, for the mutual benefit of both countries and their brotherly people.
Lt. General Al Sha’far also confirmed that the decisions and recommendations that will come out of this meeting will benefit both countries, and reflect the hopes and outlooks of their leaders. They will help with the wellbeing and prosperity of both brotherly peoples. The work session discussed a number of common security topics.
For his part, Major General Hammad bin Sulaiman Al Hatimi, expressed his thanks and appreciation of the Ministry of Interior in the United Arab Emirates for their warm reception. He pointed that this meeting will produce good results that serve the interests of both countries, to further the progress and prosperity of their people.
In conclusion, he expressed his hope that this meeting achieves the desired results and objectives, and reflects the aspirations of the leaders of both countries to achieve the welfare of the two brotherly peoples, in an atmosphere of safety and security and stability.
