The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs of Al Ain celebrated women's achievements in a ceremony organized on the occasion of the International Women’s Day marked every year on March 8th. The celebration was held under the slogan "Women and Society", to highlight Emirati women's role and achievements in all fields, especially in policing and security work, where they attained a well-deserved status and a strong presence at the local, regional and international levels.
The ceremony included a presentation featuring a compilation of motivational speeches by prominent government leaders, who praised the Emirati women's vital role in building the society and pledged full motivation and support of women's efforts and innovations. The ceremony also included numerous educational, religious, recreational and motivational activities.
Colonel Khalifa Matar Balquba' Al Hemairi, Director of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Al Ain, reiterated the directorate’s keenness to participate in such events. "In line with its commitment to encourage women to be creative and to excel in the work field, the General Directorate endeavors to implement a comprehensive methodology for development, improvement, and motivation at the Directorate. This approach would encourage team work across the directorate’s different sectors to achieve desired goals," he noted.
For his part, Preacher Dr. Mohammed Yassin from the Community Police Department presented a religious lecture where he spoke of women’s major role in society and their distinguished achievements in their respective fields of work. He also highlighted women’s rights and duties as guaranteed by Islam.
Female staff members of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Al Ain, took turns to write their priority resolution in the International Women’s Day’s 2014 journal, as an initiative from the directorate to encourage women to set goals and work to achieve them. Valuable prizes will be offered to the female employee who achieves her goal, during the International Women’s Day 2015 celebration.
At the end of the ceremony, female staff members from the various sections of the directorate were honored for achieving the goals they have set for themselves in 2013. The accolade is an expression of appreciation for their efforts in the service of the directorate and serves as motivation to encourage their colleagues to follow their path, and make the necessary efforts to serve the country.
