The Organizing Committee of the seventh sports event for MoI staff members recently discussed a number of issues related to the regulations of the sports event, as well as the technical terms and conditions for all competitions. The event, organized by the Police Sports Federation, will be taking place under the slogan” Happiest People”.
These issues were discussed during the second collaborative meeting held by the committee in the conference room at the Police Sports Federation’s headquarters. The meeting was chaired by Brigadier Abdul Malik Jani, Head of Police Sports Federation Department.
Brigadier Abdul Malik Jani welcomed the attendees, stressing the importance of participating in the sports event, which is being organized for the seventh time. He praised the event for its positive impact on police members and their professional performance. He also pointed out that this collaborative meeting aims to achieve a convergence of viewpoints, as well as administrative and technical coordination with all participating sectors, so as to organize the event in way that befits the ministry’s position, in terms of good organization and preparation for each activity.
"The Police Sports Federation’s organization of sports events for MoI staff members for the seventh consecutive year reflects the sport events’ success over the past years. It aims to shed light on the important role of sports and enhance relations and harmony among the brothers of one family,” he added. He also noted that this tournament aims to create brotherly ties and create an atmosphere of love, unity and trust. "It also aims to lay a foundation for greater cooperation among employees of the Ministry of Interior,” he continued.
He also stressed the department’s keenness to encourage friendship and acquaintance among all staff members at the Ministry of Interior and its various departments; as well as strengthen social ties and brotherly relations, create an atmosphere of fair competition among them, and support the sports activities at the police institutions.
For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Aref Ali Al Rais, Chief of Sports Activities Section at the Police Sports Federation Department, reviewed the sports events’ regulations, including the registration system for participants in each competition.
The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Nasser Mankush, from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior; Dr. Hussein Al Samari, Expert at the Police Sports Federation; as well as representatives of the sectors participating in the seventh sports events for MoI staff members.
It is worth mentioning that six sectors will participate in the seventh sporting event for MoI staff members. These sectors are: the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior; the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Sector; the Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs’ Sector; the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Resources and Support Services Sector; the Directorate General of Civil Defense; and the Police College. The events are set to kick off on March 23rd until April 2nd, and will include a variety of sports competitions including: Seven-a-Side Football Tournament; Seven-a-Side Beach Volleyball; the Tug of War Tournament; Snooker Championship; Pistol Shooting Championship for Men; Pistol Shooting Championship for Women; Pistol Shooting Championship for Officers; Pistol Shooting Championship for Senior Officers; Swimming Championship; Bowling Championship; Running Championship; Electronic Football Championship; as well as educational contests for men and women and the Chess Championship for men and women. The events will be held in several places, including Zayed Sports City; the Ministry of Interior’s headquarters; the Police Officers Club in Abu Dhabi; Al Jazira Sports Club; and the Police College.
