Major General Staff Dr. Obeid Al Kutbi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014), confirmed that the idea of organizing the 6thedition of ISNR Abu Dhabi did not come from nothing, and was not random. He said it came from the depth of the higher leaderships’ interest and its keenness to meet the needs and the security of its citizens and residents and recognizing the necessity of constant development and innovation, and its commitment to provide every possible resource to reinforce security, stability, and decent living, believing that the security institution is one of the key pillars of stability, thus achieving the vision and leadership to which we aspire, and to be among the ranks of the most developed countries in the world.
This statement was made at the press conference that was held today at the Hilton Capital Grand Abu Dhabi to announce the events of the 6thedition of the International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014), which will be taking place from 1-3 April, 2014, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC).
The press conference was also attended by Major General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, Civil Defense Acting General Commander-in-chief; Dr. Jaber Eidha Al Jaberi, Abu Dhabi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Environment, Health and Safety Center (OSHAD); Brigadier Saeed Salem Al Hanki, Chairman of the Secretariat, and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Conference on Security Challenges; Lieutenant Colonel Faysal Al Shammari, Information Security Senior Officer, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 5th International Conference on Digital Forensics and Cyber Crime; Ara Fernezian, Divisional Managing Director at Reed Exhibitions in the UAE; and Mohammed Al Ahmadi,911 Fire Fighting and Occupational Safety Training Company.
Major General Staff Dr. Obeid Al Kutbi, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee, said during the press conference: "Abu Dhabi ISNR 2014 is an important platform to exchange ideas and experiences in the presence of the world’s elite experts and specialists in this field, and to follow up with the latest achievements in the fields of security, safety, and emergency.”
He explained that this year’s exhibition will include new pavilions specializing in national security and resilience, information security, the security of vital facilities, and two specialized exhibitions which are: Fire & Emergency Middle East (FEME), and Occupational Safety and Health Middle East (OSH ME),with the attendance and participation of hundreds of exhibitors and the best experts specializing in the fields of security, safety, and emergency, from governmental, semi-governmental, and private sectors.
And he added: "What also makes this year special, that the event schedule includes a live demonstration on responding to crises and emergencies entitled "Aftershock”. The demonstration will be carried out by a big number of civil defense and emergency service units, exploring what happens when a modern city faces an emergency and how long it takes to recover normal daily life.”
He pointed out that the preparations for this exhibition are underway, and that this year’s exhibition has witnessed a 60 percent area expansion compared to 2012’s exhibition, and is attracting more than 400 exhibitors and 15 thousand visitors who are experts in the fields of security, safety, and emergency from more than 40 countries. The exhibition will be held on an area of 27 thousand square meters, with the participation of elite local, regional, and international specialized companies.
Major General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, Civil Defense Acting General Commander-in-chief, said: "Fire & Emergency Middle East (FEME), which is organized under ‘ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014’ is considered as a chance to see the latest technologies and solutions for firefighting, protection, emergency medical services, fire relief and prevention, general safety, and chance to get to know the latest concepts and innovative solutions for firefighting and responding to crises and risk prevention.”
Major General Al Matroushi added: "The General Command of Civil Defense is participating by exhibiting some vehicles and advanced technologies for firefighting, command, control and rescue. The exhibited items reflect the high state of preparation of the General Command of Civil Defense, and its continuous keenness to build and enforce its abilities to respond to emergencies. We are also organizing (The Firefighters’ Challenge) during this event, where the participating teams will demonstrate their technical rescue and firefighting abilities.”
For his part, Dr. Jaber Eidha Al Jaberi, Abu Dhabi, Acting Director General of the Occupational Safety and Health Center – Abu Dhabi (OSHAD),added: "Occupational Safety and Health Middle East (OSH ME) will present within its first edition, the latest tools and solutions that help to pinpoint the potential hazards, and introduce the latest technology in safety and occupational health, and the biggest challenges that face the safety and occupational health systems through a number of discussions and workshops that will discuss the best practices in this field, presented by the best expert and specialists. It will also contribute to reinforce the coordination and collaboration with international, regional, and local organizations and associations participating in the events of the conference and the exhibition, which will witness the signing of memoranda of understanding with some international associations that specialize in safety and occupational health.”
Al Jaberi added: "Occupational Safety and Health Middle East (OSH ME),which will be held on the 2nd of April 2014 under the theme ‘Safety and occupational health management – protection for people and value for business’, will represent a perfect platform to discuss safety challenges in work places and the ways to face those challenges, through work papers and discussions that will tackle safety and occupational health issues, and health and safety initiatives on both local and government levels, as well as the latest directions and international practices in the field of safety and occupational health.”
For his part, Brigadier Saeed Salem Al Hanki, Director General of the Finance and Services General Directorate at the Ministry of Interior, and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Conference on Security Challenges said: "The exhibition (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014) will coincide with the International Conference on Security Challenges that will be held on Monday, the 31st of March, at the Armed Forces Officers Club in Abu Dhabi. Prominent regional and international experts will participate in the event and contribute to it with productive discussions that enhance the security system on different levels.”
The conference is one of the cultural aspects of the exhibition, as it presents the knowledge framework of the Ministry of Interior, and reveals its continuous endeavors to contribute efficiently to realizing security and spreading safety culture. The Ministry of Interior does so through presenting topics that reveal the interest of authorities concerned with safety and security issues worldwide. The conference agenda includes three sessions, during which working papers presented by local and international experts and researchers will be reviewed and discussed.
Brigadier Al Hanki added that the conference will examine many important topics and issues related to strategic visions, and ensuring the readiness to face the challenges and contemporary security issues on the regional and international level. Participants will discuss issues concerned with business continuity management during the times of crisis, managing the security of events and reducing the effects of the chemical, biological, nuclear and radioactive leakage, fighting and preventing wide scale fires, implementing standards for safe vehicles and motorists’ behavior, in addition to several important and vital relevant topics.
Ara Fernezian, Divisional Managing Director at Reed Exhibitions in the UAE, stated that the overall space of the exhibition has increased 60 percent compared to that of 2012. The total current space allocated for the exhibition is 27 thousand square meters, with another 12 thousand square meters for internal and external events.
Fernezian commented that this edition will see an increase by 130 percent in the number of exhibitor and representing companies, authorities and departments participating in the exhibition. 420 companies and authorities from about 40 countries from around the world will take a part in the event. The new edition of the exhibition features an increase in the number government buyers, where it increased from 12 buyers to reach 100 buyers from seven different countries. It is anticipated that around 15 thousand visitors will attend the event, along with a number of high profile experts in the fields of security, safety and emergency from various governmental, semi-governmental and private sectors.
Lieutenant Colonel Faysal Al Shammari, Director of the Ministry of Interior's Child Protection Center and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Conference on Digital Forensics and Cyber crime, which is in its fifth edition and is due to be held on the 2ndof April along with the events of the International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience (ISNR 2014).
He spoke about the topics to be discussed throughout the two days. These include information security, challenges and opportunities of developing a National strategy for encryption, financial information security via network, digital security strategy, and several relevant topics. Lieutenant Colonel Al Shammari pointed that the first day of the conference will discuss digital safety and security and privacy, international cooperation to protect children from the Internet, parental control capabilities, infrastructure, security services, and smart devices.
Mohammed Al Ahmadi, owner of the 911 Fire Fighting and Occupational Safety Training Company, talked about the UAE’s International Fire Fighter Championship, which will take place as part of the exhibition. Around 13 teams and more that 130 competitors from different countries in the world will participate in the event.
International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014)is a prominent event on the calendar for global security and safety events in the MENA region.
