Al Dhabiania Committee at the Abu Dhabi General Directorate of Residence and Foreigners Affairs organized an initiative under the theme "Together…we plant the UAE”. This initiative aims to plant a number of seeds in the courtyard of the Emirates Institute for Naturalization and Residency in Abu Dhabi, on the occasion of the thirty-fourth Plantation Week, which is being held from 3 to 7 March and is celebrated annually by the state.
Colonel Salim Ali Al Qattam Al Zaabi, Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi; accompanied by Colonel Yusuf Khouri, Deputy Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, and heads of departments, planted a tree in front of the Emirates Institute for Naturalization and Residency in Abu Dhabi.
In a speech delivered on this occasion, Colonel Al Zaabi stressed that the celebration of Plantation Week is a form of appreciation for the great efforts and the great success of that the UAE has achieved in terms of planting green areas, gardens and entertainment parks, which turned the cities in the Emirates into ‘green gardens’. "These efforts have also contributed to the success of the agricultural and environmental renaissance that paved the way for leading ideas, thanks to unwavering generosity from our higher leadership,” noted Al Zaabi.
"This year’s Plantation Week slogan "Together…we plant the UAE” embodies the integrated agricultural projects implemented in the UAE, with a view to reach the coveted goal of spreading greenery, agriculture and vegetation in all our cities,” concluded Al Zaabi.
