Saif Bin Zayed in Morocco to Attend the Arab Interior Ministers Council Meeting

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior arrived in Marrakech today, to attend the 31st Arab Interior Ministers Council meeting that is being held at the Four Seasons hotel in Marrakech, on 12-13 March.

His Highness Sheikh Saif and the accompanying delegation were received upon arrival at the Marrakech International Airport by His Excellency Mohamed Hassad, Morocco’s Minister of Interior; His Excellency Al Asri Saeed Al Dhaheri, UAE ambassador to Morocco, and a number of senior officials.

In his statement at the Marrakech International Airport, His Highness Sheikh Saif hailed the efforts of his Moroccan counterpart to deliver the best organization, hospitality and reception provided to the Emirati delegation. H.H also commended the Arab countries’ efforts to consolidate and develop cooperation in the various areas of security work, which would yield further results benefiting the entire Arab world.

His Highness Sheikh Saif also discussed important issues, notably strengthening security collaboration between Arab Interior Ministries, especially in the areas of the promotion of unified security strategies; the achievements of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) last year, in terms of developing scientific and training abilities of law security members of Arab enforcement agencies, through training courses, scientific meetings, educational lectures it has organized, as well as the latest studies carried out by the university.

His Highness Sheikh Saif also discussed the establishment of the Higher Arab Security Committee project, the approval of the Interpol travel document initiative, the adoption of final reports and financial budgets, as well as the illicit issue of human trafficking, and terrorist crimes. Supporting communication and coordination between different Arab security agencies in various areas of security work and many other issues and proposals were also tackled in the meeting.

The delegation accompanying His Highness Sheikh Saif includes Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Resources and Support Services; Advisor Rashid Lakhrebani  Al Nuaimi, General Secretary of the Federal Demographic Council; Brigadier Ali Abdullah Alwan Al Nuaimi , Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police; Brigadier Rashid Sultan Al Khodr, Head  of Legal Affairs Department; and a number of senior officers and officials.

Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan also meets his Egyptian and Lebanese counterparts

On the sidelines of the 31st Arab Interior Ministers Council meeting, Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior held separate meetings today with his Egyptian counterpart, General Mohamed Ibrahim, Egypt’s Minister of Interior, and Mr. Nouhad Machnouk, Lebanon’s Interior and Municipalities Minister. During the meetings, they discussed a number of issues of mutual interest issues, with a view to strengthen security work in the Arab countries.
