ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, February 13th 2014
14 children from the Abu Dhabi Police Nursery at the Clubs and Sports Activities Department at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
Captain Maryam Jassem Ali Said, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Police Nursery Section, said that the visit falls within the framework of the nursery’s educational programs. Children attend theoretical lessons about Islamic culture and its tolerant messages through a simplified, fun method. After that, the students are given a practical explanation of the theoretical information.
During the visit, the nursery children were introduced to the designated prayer areas and prayed together. They were also taken on a tour of the Mosque’s grounds. At the end of the visit, the children paid a visit to the grave of the founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan "may God have mercy upon his soul”, and recited their prayers for his soul.
