The city of Abu Dhabi is hosting an international conference about security challenges, on Monday, March 31st, 2014. The conference aims to address important issues that face national security worldwide.
The conference will be held at the Armed Forces Officers Club, one day ahead of the International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience, which will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre for three days, from 1 to 3 April 2014.
Organized by the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with Reed Exhibitions, the conference receives great support and attention from the ministry’s officials. It will witness also significant participation by senior experts that specialize in security and safety, in addition to police chiefs who will discuss the methods for international cooperation to support security and national stability.
The conference will discuss topics related to the protection of national borders and road monitoring, and the various fields of law enforcement. Specialized security experts from around the world will participate by presenting studies and papers.
Major General Staff Dr. Obeid Al Kutbi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the ISNR Conference and Exhibition, said that the national security and advanced technologies that improve the safety and welfare of society are at the top the government’s list of priorities. Safety and security are the most important pillars and means of stability for the UAE. He stressed the importance of continuing to enhance national expertise and security strategies. This is a means to achieve balanced economic growth that does not ignore the UAE’s security matters.
"This important conference will provide a unique platform for professionals in the fields of safety and security from around the world to share best practices and expertise, and to view the successful experiences in this regard and make the best of them, in addition to discussing all the security challenges resulting from advanced technologies, as well as social and economic changes,” added Al Kutbi.
The conference comes at a time when the emirate of Abu Dhabi is witnessing unprecedented growth in terms of population and gross domestic production, placing a great responsibility on the government to ensure the safety and security of society. Reports have noted that the population growth in the emirate reached 8% in the last two years. Economic growth is expected to reach 5% by the end of the year.
The exhibition will attract directors of security institutions, business owners, decision makers, contracting companies that work in the field of security, contractors in the field of electrical and mechanical engineering, as well as professionals in the field of hotels and hospitality security, airports and ports security, oil and gas security, and traffic industries and city planning security. It will also provide a platform to introduce the latest technology available in the field of safety and security.
