Police College: Graduation of 24th batch cadets & university graduates & 8th batch of female university graduates

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Monday, February 3rd 2014

Under the patronage of General HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the Police College will be hosting a graduation ceremony on Tuesday. The graduation includes the 24th batch of male cadets and university graduates, the 8th batch of female university graduates, and the first batch of Masters Degree holders.

Colonel Saif Al Kutbi, Police College Director said: "In total, there were 398 graduates; 155 cadets, 205 male university graduates, and 5 female university graduates, and 29 Masters Degree holders. The cadets included 10 students from five different Arab countries: one student from Kuwait; three students from Qatar; and two students from Jordan, Yemen and Palestine respectively.”

Colonel Al Kutbi continued: "The Police College has gained a prestigious and advanced position across the Arab region. It has become one of the leading academic institutions in the police, legal, and security studies, with highly skilled academic staff and specialized professional trainers. The college has also become a prominent academic establishment, serving the UAE and other Arab countries. This prominent position encourages us to forge ahead with unstinting efforts to upgrade the standards of training to the highest levels.”

He added: "The Police College in Abu Dhabi enjoys a remarkable position in comparison to other security colleges. It offers a distinguished and integrated education and training system and makes use of relies an elaborate strategy and scientific plan to achieve its mission. This significantly contributes to the overall renaissance and progress witnessed by the UAE, under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.”

Adding further, Colonel Al Kutbi explained: "The Police College has developed its curricula and programs consistent with the requirements of the next stage, focused on providing the best security services to UAE society.  The college is committed to qualifying a new generation of officers that demonstrate a high sense of security and distinguished scientific and cultural knowledge, capable of fulfilling their security and humanitarian duties.”

He also noted: "Graduating new batches of highly skilled officers aims to support the police force and provide it with a well trained staff members, qualified to carry out their future responsibilities.”

Colonel Saif Al Kutbi extended his thanks and gratitude to Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior for his continuous support, sponsorship, wise directives and diligent follow-up, aimed at enhancing the college’s performance.

He also thanked the academic and training faculties, as well as the officers, non-commissioned officers and constables, for their loyal efforts to qualify these batches for graduation.

Interviews with top graduates

Top achieving graduates expressed their thoughts on this important occasion, stressing that working in the police force is a duty, an honor and a sacrifice. They expressed their heartfelt joy for this achievement, which allows them to support their counterparts in the police force in protecting the national achievements in the United Arab Emirates. They also praised the unwavering efforts exerted by the Police College officials, as well as the academic and training faculties.

University graduate, Sheikh Sultan bin Saeed bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Parade Commander, said: "I have fulfilled my dream of joining the Police College after graduation. Serving my country as a member of the police force is a great honor, to protect the security, safety and stability of the UAE.” He extended his congratulations to his fellow graduates and urged them to permanently seek to improve their skills, apply the knowledge they have acquired in practice, and to always strive for excellence.

Cadet Abdullah Obeid Khalifa Obaid Al Shamesi, who ranked first in the overall total, and achieved first place in leadership efficiency and behavior, and first place in professional application course, said: "I have succeeded  in making this achievement  by the grace and support of Allah in the first place, and by the guidance of my father and my family. Since enrolling in the Police College, I have set my sights on attaining the highest ranks; and managed to achieve these goals through perseverance and hard work. The encouragement and support I received from the college’s administration and the academic and training staff were instrumental in my success.”

Cadet Omar Mohammed Ibrahim Kassin Al Tunaiji, who ranked second in the overall score and first in academic sciences field, said that he was determined on achieving excellence since he enrolled in the Police College. He added that the support and encouragement of his family was behind getting this advanced position.

For his part, Cadet Saif Obeid Abdullah Omair Al Kutbi, who ranked third in the overall score, indicated that he enjoyed the fair competition atmosphere between colleagues at the Police College, which prompted him to seek advanced positions. He commended the pivotal role of lecturers and trainers at the college, which allowed him to make this achievement.  His colleague, Cadet Obeid Al Asri Ghumran Juma’a Al Dhaheri, who ranked first in infantry, noted: "I set my sights on achieving excellence to leave a distinguished hallmark at the college among my fellow graduates.  To attain this goal, I have studied and trained persistently and seriously, and strived to make use of every piece of information I acquired, whether in the classrooms or in the training field.”

Cadet Khaled Sultan Hamad Rashid Al Kutbi, who ranked first in weapons assembly and dismantling and shooting, asserted that excellence is a gift from Allah Almighty, to be claimed by those who seek it with perseverance, persistence and hard work. He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to everyone who was instrumental in his training and education, to help him develop his abilities and skills until graduation.  The Police College is an efficient tool at the Ministry of Interior; it is the leading entity to produce skilled police officers,” he stated.

Cadet Khaled Rashid Saeed Khalfan Al Hassani, who ranked first in the sports field, concurred with Cadet Khaled Al Kutbi; noting that perseverance in terms of training, inside and outside the college, contributed to his excellence.  He pointed out that attaining the goal of excellence has been the driving force behind his work, and that he has full confidence that he will have a future career that is full of achievements.
The top achieving graduate in the special training field, Cadet Yusuf Mabkhout Suleiman Qadaan Al Menhali noted that he has pledged to make sacrifices to maintain the prominent position of his homeland. He pointed out that he was adamant to achieving excellence since first joining the Police College.   Top achieving university graduate, first in the overall score for students from Arab States,  Mohammed Ibrahim Ahmed Mohammed Abdul Ridha, from the sister State of Kuwait, stressed that achievements are made by people with enduring resilience, determination, and strong will; people who are optimistic about the future. He added that he was determined to achieve excellence and superiority since enrolling in the college, and arriving to the UAE.  

As for the university graduate, Hamad Ahmed Mohammed Abdullah Al Zayoudi, who ranked first in the overall score, and top achiever in the military training among male university graduates, he said that he has fulfilled his dream of enrolling in the Police College after graduation.  "Serving the country is a great honor. Police force members have a noble responsibility to maintain security and stability,” noted Al Zayoudi. He also congratulated his fellow graduates, and urged them to exert further efforts while relentlessly striving to develop their skills and abilities by enrolling in specialized courses. In conclusion, he urged them to apply the knowledge they have acquired in their career, while always seeking excellence and creativity.

For her part, university graduate, Louloua Hassan Khatem Mohammed Al Hammadi, from the 8th batch of female university graduates, who ranked first in the overall score, military training, and efficiency leadership and behavior respectively, emphasized that perseverance and determination were the driving force behind her excellence since enrolling in the college. "Thanks to Allah Almighty, and the attention of the college’s administration, academic and training staff, I was able to achieve this advanced position. The responsibilities that await us after graduation are great and our country expects us to deliver,” noted Al Hammadi. She also called upon her fellow graduates to keep abreast of all developments in the field of legal and police sciences, training and combating crime: "Graduates are distinguished and prominent entities; it is their duty to maintain  safety and property of society, each in his/her respective field of work and specialization,” she concluded.
