Under the title "Strategic Integration and Harmonization of Public Policies”; Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and President Emeritus of the Emirates Strategic Planning Association attended the launch of the second annual conference organized today Monday morning at the Federal National Council Hall in Abu Dhabi.
HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed expressed his relief for this brainstorming which embodies general reconciliation, analyzes chances of benefits and risks emerging from the nature of the civilized progress and openness witnessed by the UAE at the different fields and sectors.
Attending the event were renowned Emirati thinkers representing several governmental entities, along with a host of high ranked military and civilian officers, of which the main attendees were: Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of UAE Federal National Council; Mariam Al Roumi, Minister of Social Affairs; Eng. Abdullah Belheef, Ministry of Public Works; and Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy; along with a number of undersecretaries and distinguished invitees.
Major General Dr. Abdul Quddus Al Obaidly, Chairman of Emirates Strategic Planning Association delivered the conference opening remarks. He shed light in his speech on the main future aspirations of the association, and the keenness to manifest the vision of HH President of the UAE and his brothres Rulersof the UAE in making the country one of the best countries in the world.
Major General Al Obaidly said: "Our aspirations are focused on excellence and innovation that aim to elevate the UAE to higher levels of civilization and sophistication. We derive our excellence from the the efforts made by Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and President Emeritus of the Emirates Strategic Planning Association which made the association win UAE governmental performance awards under the Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Program. The winning of the awards was possible through the successes made by the association in supporting the UAE strategic plan in a short period of time.
He noted that launch of this conference comes in conjunction with the announcement of the winning of hosting the EXPO2020 by the emirate of Dubai as a major step towards achieving the objectives of the association, along with the big accomplishments made during the past few years in all fields.
(Several axes were successively touched upon such as the health security by Dr. Amin Hassan Al Amiri Ministry of Health Undersecretary for Medical Practices. The third axel was on the role of the youth in achieving the UAE’s Vision 2021 presented by Khaled Bin Issa Al Madfaa, Assistant Secretary-General of the General Authority for Youth Welfare and Sports).
On the fourth axel of the conference on social media; Lt. General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Dubai police and Public Security waged a "legitimate” attack on the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist group that is banned. He described their odious acts that aim to destabilize the security and stability of communities as being shameful and disgraceful ways that are built on contradictions and fabricating false information and lies, and that they are acts irrelevant to our peaceful religion of Islam. He supported his statements with a set of conclusive evidence showing how the group exploits through its destructive doctrine the civilized world’s production of modern technologies that were basically aimed to achieve the happiness of the people. He said that the group diverts the use of these technologies to serve as a tool of destruction, division, rivalry and the promotion of lies and false information that aim to insult sincere national symbols. He continued that the group does this by exploiting the emotions of ordinary people, or exploiting the teachings of Islam to serve their illegal agendas and interests that aim to assume authority at the expense of innocent life losses.
He gave examples of fabricated propaganda and the false rumors the group spreads to abuse its rivals and to accuse them of being anti-Islam with no legitimate ground. He explained that their evil practices are the ones that truly offend Islam and Muslims.
He concluded his intervention with a number of recommendations in which he called for the establishment of an Anti-Rumors Body. He also stressed the importance of not under estimating the importance of social media in impacting the public opinion, and called for directing the youth and school students to use these means in a positive way that serves the general values and morals of the society.
On the final axel, Dr. Mansoor Al Awar Chancellor of Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University gave his presentation on Smart Government.
At the conclusion of the conference, Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan recognized a number of participants, and he toured the hall to shake hands with the invitees. HH expressed his appreciation for their efforts in serving the country and its people.
HH Attends the Signing Ceremony of two MoU’s between the Association, and both the Ministry of Public Works and the Dubai Handicapped Club
On the sideline of the conference; Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior attended the signing ceremony of two separate Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) between the Emirates Strategic Planning Association and both the Ministry of Public Works and the Dubai Handicapped Club.
Major General Dr. Abdul Quddus Al Obaidly, Chairman of Emirates Strategic Planning Association signed both the MoU’s, while Eng. Zahra Al Aboudi Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works signed the Ministry’s MoU, and Juma’a Barqad President of Dubai Handicapped Club signed the Club’s MoU.
