ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, January 29th 2014 [ME NewsWire] The Directorate of Traffic and Patrols urged motorists on both sides of Al Raha Beach to exercise caution, reduce speed, and respect speed limits indicated on the signs along the construction detours. The speed limit will help prevent all the causes that lead to traffic accidents, resulting in deaths and serious injuries. Radars will be set to 121 km/h in both directions from Al Qanat Bridge (the Channel Bridge) to Sheikh Zayed Bridge, to catch speed violators. Furthermore, the directorate urged motorists travelling on the Al Raha Beach Road to exercise caution, not only to avoid radar fines, but for their own safety and the safety of others. It also reiterated the importance of all segments of society taking part in the efforts to promote the culture of safe driving and abiding by speed limits in order to prevent traffic accidents. The policy of increasing traffic regulation aims to ensure the safety of the drivers, and promote compliance with laws, leading to reduced speeds. High speeds pose risks to the driver and other people, should the driver be unable to control the vehicle.
