The Mussafah Police Station, in collaboration with the Municipality of Mussafah and the Merryland International School, carried out an environmental initiative under the slogan: "Emirates our Environment’. As many as sixty students from the school, in cooperation with the Community Police Branch, conducted a clean-up of the area opposite to the police station, picking up the trash, specifically plastic waste, which has a serious impact on the environment.
Major Sultan Saeed Al Raisi, Director of Musaffah Station at the Peripheral Areas Police Directorate, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the school’s administration for its keenness to raise its students’ awareness and enhance the culture of environmental consciousness, and thanked them for contributing to the protection of the environment.
It is worth mentioning that the Mussafah Police Station participated in the "Green Apple Day” events organized by the school to support the "Emirates our Environment” initiative. 400 students attended the event, which aims to instill the concepts of good health, nutrition, environment safety, and the conservation of energy.
First Lieutenant Mohammed Saeed Al Ameri, Community Police Branch Manager, presented a lecture. First Lieutenant Al Ameri provided the students with tips on healthy eating habits and fresh foods, such as apples, and the impact they have on good health. Furthermore, a group from the Community Police Branch participated in many of the "Green Apple Day” activities.
For her part, Mrs. Susheela George, the school’s principal, stressed that the implementation of the initiative will help educate students on the means of reducing the use of plastic bags which harm the environment, as well as the conservation of water and electricity in order to help future generations. The initiative also intends to raise their awareness regarding proper nutrition in order to maintain a healthy body, which reflects the quality of their education and creates environmental awareness among people surrounding them, since social responsibility plays an important role in spreading environmental education and awareness.
