The Federal Security Information Department affiliated to the Federal Criminal Police Directorate General at the Ministry of Interior organized a specialized workshop in cooperation with the General Directorate of Strategy and Performance Development. The workshop was held at Abu Dhabi Police Officers’ Club, and attended by heads of departments, heads of the Comprehensive Police Stations at the police general headquarters across the country, and a large number of officers at the Ministry of Interior.
In his address to the audience, Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior underlined the importance of making good use of information sources to enhance police and security work, in light of the major progress witnessed by the country in all fields, as well as the need to find special information sources.
Adding further, he said: "Police officers are required to shoulder their responsibilities, and understand the vital importance of information sources. They should work with high efficiency, and acquire the capability to anticipate events to achieve the desired goals.”
The workshop was attended by Major General Abdul Jalil Mahdi Al Asmawi, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate General at Dubai Police; Brigadier Muhammed Ghadir Al Kutbi, Deputy Director General of the Federal Criminal Police at the Ministry of Interior; Colonel Abdul Aziz Al Ahmed, Head of the Security Information Department; Colonel Saeed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Federal Anti-Narcotics Federal Directorate General; and Colonel Saud Al Saadi, Director of the Secretariat of the Office of His Highness the Minister of Interior.
The workshop was inaugurated with a speech delivered by Brigadier Muhammed Ghadir Al Kutbi, Deputy Director General of the Federal Criminal Police at the Ministry of Interior, where he stressed the importance of aligning goals and boosting police performance to achieve the public benefit.
"The Ministry of Interior has achieved a first-of-its-kind breakthrough by implementing a unified information classification methodology, as well as establishing the Federal Security Information Department, and preparing the strategic risk assessment report,” Brigadier Al Kutbi continued.
During the workshop, Colonel Abdul Aziz Al Ahmed, Head of the Security Information Department, reviewed a number of issues pertaining to the workshop’s topics, including the use of the national model of security information.
For his part, Major Salem Said Al Quraini, Chief of the Experts Affairs Section at the General Directorate of Strategy and Performance Development, gave an overview of the Ministry of Interior’s 2014 – 2016 strategy, its vision, message, values, and strategic goals.
Colonel Saeed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Federal Anti-Narcotics Federal Directorate General, gave a presentation, showcasing a number of Narcotics-related issues on the Federal level.
