Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and President of Dubai Health Authority, the Otolaryngology Division at the Emirates Medical Association organizes the 8th International Pan ARABFOS Conference, the 4th Emirates Rhinology & Otology Conference, the 3rd Arab & GCC Otology & Audiology Conference, and the 1st Advanced Arab Academy of Audio-vestibular Conference. The Conference is scheduled to take place from 15 – 17 January 2014 at the Intercontinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City, and will be attended by 950 specialized physicians from around the world.
The conference will be attended by the General Secretary of The International Federation of ORL Societies (IFOS) and the President of the European Academy of Otorhinolaryngology, along with a number of selected physicians, as well as Arab and foreign specialists. Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman, Chairman of the Conference, President of ORL, Head & Neck Society, Emirates Medical Association, stressed the importance of this conference, which is held every two years in one of the Arab countries. Furthermore, he pointed out that this year’s session that will be held in Dubai will be one of the most successful sessions, especially because the scientific committee considered choosing 120 scientific papers, including 60 papers submitted by the UAE and other Arab states. "This would enrich the scientific sessions of the conference and benefit all participants, particularly in terms of exchanging expertise and experiences and provide the participants with the experience required to treat all diseases,” added Dr. Abdul Rahman.
Dr. Hussein Abdul Rahman also said that the conference will be preceded by four training workshops that will take place over the course of three days. The first workshop will be on laparoscopic surgery for nasal sinuses and skull bases, the second on cochlear implants, the third on snoring and sleep apnea, while the forth will be on dizziness and balance disorders.
