The Ports Security Institute at the Ports and Airports Security Department at Abu Dhabi Police celebrated the graduation of 89 participants after completing four specialized one-week courses. The four courses included: "Detection and Security Inspection using computer based simulation training (CBT), "Airports Security Basics”, "Overcoming Work-related Stress”, and a course on "Boosting the Sense of Security Skills”.
Colonel Matar Ahmed Al Muhairi, Director of the Institute, noted that training police staff members embodies the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy to qualify its human cadre and boost their performance by enhancing their professional skills according to international-best standards.
"The training system has been witnessing remarkable progress in all fields, so as to keep pace with the latest developments. The ultimate goal is to provide police departments with highly skilled staff members to positively reflect on the police sector’s prominent position and maintain stability and security in the country’s facilities,” he added.
Colonel Al Muhairi indicated that a total of 89 participants from various departments received theoretical and practical applications to hone and develop their skills, in accordance with international-best standards in areas of police sciences.
Colonel Al Muhairi distributed certificates to the graduates in the presence of a number of officers from the Ports and Airports Security Police Department. Moreover, he called on the graduates to apply the knowledge they acquired in the courses in their work, and share it with their colleagues. He also urged them to show loyalty and dedication in carrying out their tasks, so as to maintain the security enjoyed by nationals and residents of the country.
