ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Friday, January 10th 2014
A total of 64 new recruits joined the Police Schools Department, affiliated to the Directorate General of Human Resources at Abu Dhabi Police in its Suwaihan headquarters. The new recruits will attend the Basic Training Course No. 92 for new police officers that will last for 20 weeks.
In his address on the occasion, Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police said: "The higher leadership’s vision and thought are the source of excellent police work. They also set the rules to be emulated by all police entities in the country, with a view to achieve security and stability of society.”
Major General Al Menhali urged recruits to take advantage of the knowledge provided by the police schools to help them keep up with the latest developments in police work, as per the curriculum set up for this purpose. Major General Al Menhali praised the higher leadership’s unstinting support and continuous attention to provide the finest resources to improve police work as per international-best practices. In conclusion, he called upon the recruits to leverage the expertise of the colleges’ best experts and trainers and to harness the modern equipment and advanced technologies to achieve success and excellence.
For his part, Colonel Waleed Salem Al Shamesi, Head of the Police Schools Department emphasized that the enrollment of new batches of recruits each year embodies the unwavering commitment of the department to provide police departments with skilled cadres, capable of delivering the best security services and enhancing police and security work.
Colonel Al Shamesi urged the new recruits to demonstrate discipline, comply with laws and regulations, and abide by military rules, so as to reflect a noble image of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.
During the 20-week course, the recruits will take part in a number of training programs pertaining to various police disciplines, as per the best modern policing standards.
