The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Abu Dhabi has received a Certificate of Attendance from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) in the USA. Bassem Jamil Farajullah, Fire Prevention and Safety Engineer at the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense General Directorate, who is the first certified lecturer to speak in Arabic about fire prevention and public safety both regionally and internationally, received the Certificate of Attendance.
Colonel Juma Salem Al Dahmani, Deputy Director of Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, met with Drew Azzara as NFPA’s Executive Director of the Middle East and North African regions. Colonel Al Dahmani praised Mr. Azzara in recognition of the organization’s efforts in supporting and training the officers.
Colonel Al Dahmani explained that obtaining this certificate falls within the framework of the directorate’s aim of achieving international competitiveness, which is in line with the police leadership’s vision.
Established in 1896, the NFPA is an international, non-profit organization that aims to reduce the worldwide burden of fire hazards by raising awareness and increasing prevention methods and safety precautions. The association works on developing consensus codes and standards as well as research efforts, training and education.
