International Centre for Culinary Arts Wins ‘Interior Design of the Year’ Award

The International Centre for Culinary Arts has won the award for “Interior Design of the Year: Public Sector & Institutional” at the Commercial Interior Design (CID) Awards held at the JW Marriott Marquis last week.

Sunjeh Raja, Director of the International Centre for Culinary Arts at Dubai Knowledge Village said, “We are thrilled to have won this prestigious award. We are very proud of our facility as a world-class culinary training centre for the hospitality industry in the region. We chose U + A Architects due to their strong track record in delivering niche, high-end projects. We worked very closely with them from the inception phase through to the final finishing touches. This award is another testament to the level at which we operate as a centre for excellence. The awards programme consisted of 15 categories in total, covering the entire spectrum of commercial interiors, from office design to leisure and entertainment.

The judges for the 2014 awards were: Barbara Bochnak, lead architect, Zaha Hadid Architects; Dean Skira, founder of Skira Lighting; Peter Aylett, technical director, Archimedia; Michelle Evans, creative director, Ayka Design; Laura Bielecki, senior designer, Godwin Austen Johnson; Bruce Paget, design lecturer, Heriot Watt University; Alan McCready, managing director Middle East, ISG; Alfred Johnson, founder and principal, Alfred Johnson Design; Rachel Brown, director, Capsule Arts and, Linsey Thomson, interior design teaching fellow, Heriot Watt University.
