Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Director General’s Ramadan Tournament Kicks off
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Saturday, June 11th 2016 [ME NewsWire] The Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Director General’s Ramadan Tournament kicked off for the fifth consecutive year. This competition organized by the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Directorate General and includes competitions in football, volleyball, tug-of-war, and a civil defense officers’ challenge. This year’s competitions will also include a women’s challenge and chess competitions. 10 teams will compete in the games, representing Civil Defense stations and a number of governmental institutions; in addition to the Abu Dhabi Petroleum Institute team, which hosts the tournament’s events. The official launch ceremony was attended by Lt. Colonel Mohammed Abdul Jalil Al Ansari, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense; along with heads of departments; and a number of officers, non-commissioned officers and constables at the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense General Directorate. The tournament’s opening featured a football game between the General Directorate of Civil Defense Team and the Capital’s Civil Defense Stations Team. The Capital Team won the match 2-1.
