The Community Police Department at Abu Dhabi Police recently organized the first Voluntary Work Forum, at the Abu Dhabi Police Officers Club. 50 male and female volunteers from different youth segments in Abu Dhabi participated.

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Monday, March 10th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

A chameleon in a house garden scared a girl in Abu Dhabi, after she mistook it for a "crocodile”. She contacted Abu Dhabi Police via the Operations Room, and reported that a "crocodile” was found in the garden of her family’s house "sticking out its tongue”, and preparing to attack her (according to what she thought).

The police mobilized its force and made its way to the reported site, accompanied by the specialized authorities, where they discovered that the animal that was "sticking out its tongue” was nothing but a pet chameleon that had escaped from a neighboring house into its neighbor’s garden. A police woman calmed the girl down, and assured her that there was nothing to fear.

Abu Dhabi Police has released information regarding a horrific murder, where a housemaid (an illegal resident) was killed and her corpse was found in the Al Ajban Area. The police were quickly able to identify the couple responsible for the crime. They both admitted to the murder, despite their attempts of disposing of the corpse by burning it with a chemical product and placing it in a distant location.

A nine-year-old Syrian girl plunged to her death from an eighth floor apartment on Hamdan Street in Abu Dhabi.

The Abu Dhabi Police Operations Room received the call reporting that a child had fallen out of one of the buildings. The Emergency and Public Safety Department’s ambulance immediately transferred the child to Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, where she was found to be in critical condition.
