Abu Dhabi Police set up a defibrillation device at the Bawabat Al Sharq Mall in Bani Yas City on Tuesday. This step was taken as a response to directions given by Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, who asked for defibrillators to be installed in public places.

A special team from the Emergency and Public Safety Department has taken the responsibility of training mall staff members on how to use the device. This will benefit the Al Sharq Mall customers.

Lt. Program encourages Creation and Innovation

The "Police Friends” Program concluded its activities in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. The Clubs and Sports Activities Department of Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters organized a celebration for a total of 110 male and female students who took part in program’s diverse activities.

Colonel Aref Saif Al Shamesi, Head of Clubs and Sports Activities Department of Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, stressed the importance of the program in empowering the young generation with skills that will ultimately benefit them in the future. The Abu Dhabi Police has announced the winners of the "Admiration of a Nation” Contest, which was organized by the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to mark the UAE's 42nd National Day.
The first place winner who received a cash prize of AED 42,000 is Rabik Basha from India; the second place winner Adnan Abdul Masih from the Syrian Arab Republic was awarded AED 25,000; and third place winner, Khalid Taha Al Chaer from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, received AED 15,000.

Registration process for the Electronic Ports’ project (E-Gate) for citizens of the UAE and the GCC, in addition to residents and individuals who have an entry visa will begin as of this Sunday at Galleria Shopping Center in Abu Dhabi (Galleria Mall), and will continue until next Thursday.

Major Mohammad Al Zaabi, Director of the E-Port Project, indicated that registration begins at 10:00 am and concludes at  10:00 pm; noting that those wishing  to register should come in person and bring their passports. He also added that the registration process is free of charge and takes less than 20 seconds only, and stressed that the ministry has allocated counters for women and for individuals with special needs.

Culprit Arrested in Record Time by Abu Dhabi Police

The Criminal Investigation Department at Abu Dhabi Police managed to arrest an Egyptian man, in connection with the murder a Palestinian, whose body was found dumped in a street at Madinat Zayed in Abu Dhabi. Confronted with irrefutable evidence, the killer confessed his crime, which the police described as "horrific”.

The Abu Dhabi Police reported that the culprit, a 39-year old Egyptian national, a bakery owner, confessed to having repeatedly hit the 47-year old Palestinian man over the head with a brick, before setting the corpse on fire to conceal the crime. During the course of interrogation, the killer confessed to having killed the victim over financial and personal disputes.

The Forensic Evidence Department at the Abu Dhabi Police Directorate General of Security and Ports Affairs has earned the renewal of its ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation.
