The Ports Security Institute at the Ports and Airports Security Department at Abu Dhabi Police celebrated the graduation of 80 participants after completing five specialized one-week courses. The five courses included: two courses in "Detection and Security Inspection using computer based simulation training (CBT)”, one course in "Crisis Management”, one course in "Aviation and Airports Security Management”, and one course in "Monitoring and Inspection using Standard Machines”.
Colonel Matar Ahmed Al Muhairi, Director of the Institute, noted that training police staff members embodies the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy to qualify its human cadre according to international-best standards with a view to maintain pace with developments across all departments and sectors in the State.
Colonel Al Muhairi added that the Abu Dhabi Police devotes great attention to the training process by resorting to highly skilled lecturers, together with foreign experts to acquaint the courses’ participants with latest developments achieved by police agencies in developed countries, in keeping with the vision to maintain the UAE as one of the most safe and secure countries in the world.
He added that a total of 80 participants from the various sections at the Abu Dhabi and Al Ain international airports completed the five specialized courses; including six participants from Lebanon. "They received training in various areas of policing and security work to enhance their career skills,” indicated Al Muhairi. He also stressed the Ports Security Institute’s commitment to discharge its duties to ensure that Abu Dhabi remains a community that enjoys security and safety, by providing high-quality police services to the citizens, residents and visitors of the emirate.
At the end of the graduation ceremony, the Director of the Institute distributed the certificates to the graduates, in the presence of officials from the Abu Dhabi Airport Customs and officers from the Ports and Airports Security Police Department. Concluding, Al Muhairi wished the graduates success and progress, calling upon them to show loyalty, dedication and perseverance in the service of their country.
