The Training Department at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Centers for Rehabilitation and Employment of Disabled Persons, held a training course on overcoming work stress at the City Seasons Hotel in Al Ain. 22 commissioned and warrant officers, as well as hearing impaired individuals from Abu Dhabi Police’s various departments and sections, participated in the five-day event.
Colonel Thani Butti Al Shamesi, Head of the Training Department at Abu Dhabi Police, said that this course reflects the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy to qualify its officers in all areas of police work. He mentioned that the course focused on empowering the deaf with communication skills. The event falls within the framework of the police leadership’s vision of enhancing partnership with all segments of society.
Vocational training counselor Doctor Amani Jamaleddine presented a lecture along with Yasser Moussa Awad, the sign language trainer from the Abu Dhabi Centers for Rehabilitation and Employment of Disabled Persons.
The course focused on topics related to work stress, like the development and stages of stress, its symptoms and causes, as well as methods of dealing with stress.
Practical case studies from the organizational and administrative structures of the police departments were highlighted and discussed during the course.
Dr. Amani Jamaleddine praised the high quality of the course and the interaction of the participants. "The course was designed to make the attendees aware of their rights in the performance assessment through continuous development, rehabilitation and education. It also aimed to equip them with communication skills that help them interact with community members,” she noted.
