The Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development, represented by the Department of Complaints and Suggestions, held a creative thinking workshop on Monday at the Sharjah Police General Headquarters.
The workshop was inaugurated by Brigadier Abdullah Mubarak Al Dakhan, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police. Brigadier Al Dakhan expressed his appreciation of the efforts made by the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development in pursuance of the directives set by the country’s higher leadership. "The higher leadership is committed to promoting and developing the capacities of the Ministry of Interior’s staff members; raising the level of thinking and stimulating their creative talents through organizing this workshop and offering it to all staff members. This workshop aims to familiarize staff members with modern methods in order to improve performance, find alternatives and solutions when addressing and resolving problems, and create the proper environment that helps unlock the creativity of all staff members and employees,” said Brigadier Al Dakhan.
For his part, Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General said: "What we aspire to at this time is to make creative thinking an essential and necessary requirement for all of the Ministry of Interior’s staff members. We strive to make it an integral part of everyday practices at all levels, taking into account the creativity of all. We, being in the position of responsibility, must pave the way for an environment conducive to creativity for staff members, customers, partners, suppliers and the community alike.”
The attendees were briefed on the methodology of creative thinking, the role of leaders in encouraging innovation as a foundation of success in institutions, and the necessity of providing the support and logistics that will help the implementation of these ideas.
The workshop also shed light on the concept of innovation and creativity; defined creative individuals; and described the role of innovation in problem solving. The workshop explored the concept of evaluating innovative ideas and the concept of overseeing their development and methods of usage. During the event, the participants received a questionnaire.
The workshop was attended by director generals, heads of departments, and a large number of officers, non-commissioned officers, and constables from the Sharjah Police General Headquarters.
It is worth mentioning that this workshop is part of a series of workshops that the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development, represented by the Department of Complaints and Suggestions, plans to organize for all police headquarters and sectors.
