Brigadier General Dr. Saif Bu Dhufaira Al Ameri, Director General of Security and Ports Affairs delivered a speech on the occasion of UAE’s 42nd National Day. Following is the text of the speech:
As we commemorate our young nation’s 42 years of unity and independence, we take pride as Emiratis with the landmark urban achievements that established a solid foundation for a brilliant present and a bright promising future, in a country of ongoing progress and prosperity, which pledges allegiance to leaders who have dedicated their efforts to serve their people and elevate the country.
On this cherished occasion, written in history with letters of gold, we recall the founding fathers and contemplate the great role and remarkable achievements made by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and praise the unstinting efforts of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, who has succeeded in furthering the march of progress and development.
This auspicious occasion is testament to nearly four decades of hard work and ongoing perseverance. Our country’s keenness to adopt a balanced policy in its relations since the birth of the Union, has earned it the love and respect of others, and allowed it to attain a prominent position in the region and worldwide.
Our distinguished security bodies have kept pace with the country’s achievements on all levels, guided by the wise leadership of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. For this end, they have adopted clear strategies up to par with the latest modern techniques, to become a role model for other law enforcement bodies.
On this glorious occasion, we would like to express our heartfelt congratulations to our nation and our higher leadership. We also pray Allah the Almighty to bestow his blessings to the country’s leaders and their Highnesses, Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, and assist them in their efforts to further the country’s march of prosperity and progress.
