To mark the UAE’s 42nd National Day, Brigadier Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, Director General of the Traffic Coordination Department at the Ministry of Interior said in a speech:
The 2nd of December represents a cherished occasion for the Emirati people. On this day, the big dream came true with the establishment of the UAE’s Union. By the grace of God and the support and wisdom of the higher leadership, our nation has become a role model for other countries in various fields.
This occasion is recognition and tribute to the efforts of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, May God have mercy upon his soul, and his brethren, their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, who worked hard to place the country in an advanced position among the world states. It is also an appreciation for His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan who pursued the same path of progress and development and continued the march of goodness and prosperity. Under his wise leadership the UAE witnessed a paradigm shift in all fields, and wowed the world with its aspirations towards further leadership, progress and prosperity, to become a hub of excellence and a coveted role model.
Acting upon the instructions of the police leadership, the Ministry of Interior has kept pace with the development and progress in various police and security fields, particularly in the traffic field. Traffic laws and systems were updated commensurate with the overall renaissance taking place in the country, with a view to maintain road safety for all. This comes in line with the MoI’s strategic plan to enhance traffic safety and reduce traffic accidents, as well as other areas of police and security work.
On this glorious occasion, we would like to express our heartfelt congratulations to our higher leadership and the Emirati people. We also pray Allah the Almighty to bestow his blessings to the country’s leaders, and assist them in their efforts to further the country’s march of prosperity and progress.
