Brigadier General Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director General of Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police, said in a speech on the occasion of the 42nd National Day:
As we commemorate the 2nd of December 1971, we recall the majestic historic process of sizable indelible achievements that went down in history. The unification of the United Arab Emirates was made possible thanks to the enlightened vision and insight of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may God have mercy upon him), the founding father of the United Arab Emirates, and his brothers, Members of the Supreme Council, Rulers of the emirates.
The birth of our young state as a unified entity has laid the foundations to a strong, well-established country and unified the Emirati people, who work collectively for the welfare of all; a gesture that was welcomed and applauded by the Arab sister nations.
The ongoing achievement process that took place across the whole country saw further development and progress in all areas. It also focused on extending bridges of communication with citizens and dedicating attention to their concerns. Furthermore, the leadership was keen to shared special and public occasions with citizens and listen to their views regarding various national issues.
Leading this majestic process is His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, who strives to elevate the country to world-class levels and glory, following the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may God have mercy upon him), the founding father of the United Arab Emirates.
Arab solidarity was a priority on the list of the leadership’s interests being a duty inherent to the sense of belonging to the Arab nation, and dictated by the common goals and destiny between sister Arab states. The UAE has also prioritized all issues related to human’s welfare, development and leadership.
Concluding, we pray Allah Almighty God to safeguard our glorious nation and its Higher Leadership with care and bestow all modernization efforts with abundant blessings. We also pray Allah Almighty to bestow wellness and heath on His Highness, the President of the UAE, his Deputy, his Brothers and all the Rulers of the Emirates, and to assist them in their endeavor to elevate the country.
