Lt. Genera Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior said in a speech on the occasion of the 42nd National Day:
While celebrating its 42nd National Day, the United Arab Emirates is proud of the great accomplishments achieved during its march of development, revival, and solidification. The UAE has a prestigious status internationally due to the developmental accomplishments made in all sectors. These achievements had a major transformational effect on our nation, making the Federation a solidified life reality with prominent position and an example in all fields, especially the police that attained safety, security, and stability. These would have never been done without the enormous support of the country’s wise leadership to the Ministry of Interior and police.
December 2nd, 1979 is a dear occasion for all of us. We are living nowadays the celebrations of the 42nd National Day on which the seven emirates united within one strong entity. The Federation united us and gathered our powers. Today, we remember HH late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan the founding father of the Federation, who accomplished the Union dream with his brothers their Highnesses members of Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates. The dream was realized through huge continuous efforts, and a strong clear will that contributed in creating our united nation. Our Federation is the most successful in the Arab world, and the most solid, sustainable, and stable role model.
Under the umbrella of the Federation and with the leadership of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, his brother H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and their brothers their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, the UAE is witnessing a rising developmental, economic, and constructional processes that surpassed all standards with ongoing achievements.
The processes of development and expansion cannot be achieved without a cohesive security system. Our leadership thus realized that no matter where the achievements reach, we cannot continue and maintain our achievements without an environment of security and stability, and granting our people the feeling of repose. The wise leadership also knew that laws and legislations must have an executive authority and that security is one of the essential stability foundations for development processes. It is for these reasons our leadership worked on developing police bodies throughout the country by supporting the Ministry of Interior; giving police work a high ranking position on its priorities, and providing it with all support and attention. This placed the Emirati Police on the highest levels internationally asserted by specialized international organizations and authorities. Training and rehabilitation programs were conducted in the UAE leading to remarkable effects on creating high level police efficiency able to keep pace with modern age with its police technological advancements. The modern enhancements included the most sophisticated equipment, vehicles, and programs that enabled police work to keep pace with development and to deal with the different criminal methods and kinds and to limit them. With both material and moral support, the Ministry of Interior and its general directorates and departments are doing their duties perfectly and participating in solidifying safety and security throughout the country.
I am pleased to extend my congratulations on this occasion to HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; his brother H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; their brothers their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates; General HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. We promise them to remain the loyal soldiers who work on protecting and enhancing the security and stability of our dear nation.
