In a meeting held in his office on Monday, Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior was presented with a copy of the latest issue of the magazine "A Drug Free Country”, compiled and published by the Anti-Narcotic Directorate General at the Dubai Police GHQ. The meeting was attended by Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; and Major General Abdul Jalil Mahdi Al Asmawi, Deputy Chairman of Higher Committee for Combating Drugs, and Director of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate General at Dubai Police.
His Highness, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior called for reinforced efforts to boost awareness of the dangers of drugs with a view to protect society from this harmful scourge.
Major General Abdul Jalil Mahdi Al Asmawi handed over a copy of the latest issue of the magazine to His Highness. He lauded His Highness’s absolute support for law enforcement agencies charged with combating drugs in the State, and his tireless commitment to follow-up efforts made by the relevant authorities in this regard.
Al Asmawi also praised the distinguished patronage of the National Rehabilitation Center in Abu Dhabi for the "A Drug Free Country” Magazine, commending the role of the Centre in this aspect.
The magazine’s new issue features statements by HH, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, shedding light on the action taken to combat drugs, and the various activities of the Anti-Narcotics General Directorate at Dubai Police. The magazine also includes a variety of topics on raising awareness of families and community members about the risks of drug abuse. This comes in line with the police leadership’s keenness to spread awareness, and to maintain the UAE’s position as "a haven of security and safety.”
Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police and Colonel Saud Al Saadi, Director of the Secretariat of the Office of His Highness the Minister of Interior attended the meeting.
