Naturalization & Residency Members Urged to Achieve Excellence and Creativity

Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports, urged members of the Naturalization, Residency, and Ports Sector to achieve excellence and innovation while performing their duties. He also encouraged them to develop a positive mentality among the publicby encouraging them to abide by the law and public safety parameters. He also urged them to strengthen the ties of cooperation between the police institution and the community with its various segments and members.

These remarks were made by Major General Al Khaili at the launch of a two-day workshop on "Organizational Excellence,” which was organized by the Strategy and Performance Development Department.  The workshop took place at the office of the Assistant Undersecretary of Naturalization, Residency, and Port Affairs in the presence of directors, heads of working groups, as well as heads of standards and excellence teams from the Organizational Excellence Council.

Moreover, Al Khaili called upon all Naturalization, Residency, and Ports Section employees to exert further efforts to develop and upgrade police work and quality of performance to the highest levels, especially with regard to the scope of work and services provided to both internal and external customers.

He noted that the workshop is also a part of the Ministry of Interior’s strategy implementation, and within the police leadership’s instructions to promote the culture of excellence. It also reflects the strategy and aspirations of the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Sector, which aims to motivate employees to achieve excellence and innovation in their work.

Expert Dr. Christian Forstner from the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) reviewed the EFQM Model’s criteria, which include the "enablers” and "results”, namely;  processes; customer results; partnerships and resources; key performance results; leadership; strategy; People results; Society results and points of improvement. Three developmental projects were chosen for the sector to continue towards excellence.

The Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Port Affairsrecently adopted a resolution to form the Organizational Excellence Council and its excellence teams and prepare for the participation in the Minister of Interior’s Excellence Award in its three levels (the Director General, Commander-in-chief, and the Minister). He also adopted a training plan for excellence, which included 99 training courses coordinating between the Strategy and Performance Development Department and the Emirates Institute of Naturalization and Residency.
