The Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development at the Ministry of Interior organized a specialized workshop to discuss the implementation mechanism of the Corporate Performance Management and Follow-up System 2014-2016, for all sectors of the ministry. It is noteworthy that this strategy is in pursuance of the overall development project of the Ministry of Interior’s strategy.
The workshop, which was held in the Hilton Hotel Abu Dhabi, was attended by Brigadier Mohammed Ali Al Marzouqi, Director of the Engineering Department; Colonel Aziz Hamoud Al Ameri, Director of Strategy and Performance Development at the Ministry; and Colonel Abdullah Khamis Al Dhaheri; Director of Human Resources Planning Department at the Directorate General of Human Resources Department in the Ministry. Also present at the workshop were directors of the strategy departments at the Police General Headquarters in the State, and heads of the Strategy Planning Sections across main and supporting departments, as well as a large number of entities concerned with the follow-up of performance indicators at the ministry.
Colonel Aziz Al Ameri stressed that this workshop is in pursuance of the overall development plan and aims to achieve the strategic goals of the Ministry of Interior 2014-2016, with a view to promote corporate performance and achieve excellence and quality. Furthermore, Al Ameri briefed participants on the performance management governance system and how it interrelates with the implementation stages at the Ministry of Interior’s organizational units.
For his part, Major Jamal Salem Al Khatiri, Head of Planning and Strategic Development reviewed the performance management system components and implementation mechanism.
Major Nihal Abdul Rahman, Chief of Institutional Performance Measuring Section gave an explanation on the alignment mechanism between the strategic axes and indicators; and briefed participants on the control panel work mechanism of the key performance indicators. Concluding, workshop participants carried out a set of practical exercises related to performance indicators.
