The Al Ain Police Directorate concluded its preparations to host the FIFA U-17 World Cup UAE 2013, which will be held from October 17th to November 8th.
The Al Ain Group Security Subcommittee organizing the championship had recently held a coordinative meeting at the Special Tasks Section building in Al Ain to discuss the ongoing preparations. This comes in line with the keenness to provide security and traffic-related requirements and resources needed to secure the Al Ain Group’s competitions, which will include the group F of Iraq, Mexico, Nigeria, and Sweden.
Brigadier Hamad Ajlan Al Amimi, Director of the Al Ain Police Directorate, stressed the directorate’s commitment to provide police and logistic services to all participating entities, athletes, organizers, supervisors and fans alike, with the participation of a number of security police and traffic entities.
"The Al Ain Group Security Committee has adopted a comprehensive plan to ensure the tournaments’ success, by fully securing the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium at Al Sarouj Area, in addition to stadiums, training halls and accommodation at both Hilton and Danat Hotels in Al Ain. Moreover, plans have been established to ensure safety and evacuation in cases of emergency, in cooperation and coordination with several relevant entities as well as government and community institutions in Al Ain,” he added.
During the meeting, the Committee assigned roles and tasks to the police entities and security and traffic patrols, with a view to ensure the championship’s success. A number of police staff members were tasked to provide all means of comfort to the participating sports teams, audiences, and guests expected to come to Al Ain from across the country, the neighboring states and other countries worldwide.
It is noteworthy that police personnel, traffic and security patrols were deployed in the different areas of Al Ain city to provide participants and visitors with directions, and ensure a smooth traffic flow inside the city and on external roads. The Al Ain Police Directorate has also announced its readiness to provide all kind of assistance to the public in cases of emergency, in addition to first aid and rescue services.
