Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, October 6th 2013 [ME NewsWire]

TECOM Investments today announced the appointment of Majed Al Suwaidi as Managing Director of Dubai Internet City (DIC) and Dubai Outsource Zone (DOZ).

Mr. Al Suwaidi will be responsible for furthering the success of DIC and DOZ and will work to ensure the effective implementation of TECOM’s overarching strategy; to be a world-class developer and operator of business parks.

Prior to assuming his new role, Mr. Al Suwaidi was the Director of Business Development for DIC since 2006 where he developed and delivered the business park’s strategy of business partner acquisition and retention.

Malek Al Malek, CEO, TECOM Business Parks, said: "I am delighted to announce the appointment of Majed Al Suwaidi to his new role. Majed’s extensive experience of working within the Middle East and North Africa’s largest ICT community, and his grasp of both the IT and outsourcing industries will enable him to effectively implement growth strategies and develop a distinctive business park proposition.”

Mr. Al Suwaidi said: "Since the establishment of DIC and DOZ in 2000 and 2007 respectively, both business parks have successfully developed prosperous ecosystems for technology and outsourcing organisations from all elements of the value chain. Today the business park, home to 5 of the top 20 Fortune 500 companies, as well as some of the region’s most dynamic and successful technology SMEs and start-ups, provides companies with rich networking opportunities, allowing them to tap into resources, partnerships and ideas.

He added: "In my years of working with TECOM, I have witnessed significant growth of the brand, in line with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s strategy of transforming Dubai into a knowledge based economy. I am honoured to have been appointed as Managing Director of these two thriving business parks and excited to be an instrumental part of their future growth and continued development. In line with TECOM’s strategy, I will strive to build an integrated and efficient platform that enhances the experience of our business partners and community at large.”
