ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, September 26th 2013 [ME NewsWire]

A number of anti-narcotics officers from across the country were introduced to the methods used to promote drugs online. They participated in a training course organized by the Anti-Narcotics Federal Directorate General at the Ministry of Interior. The course, titled "New Synthetic Drugs,” was carried out in cooperation with the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

The one-week course was held at the Federal Police School in Sharjah; a number of anti-narcotics officers from across GCC countries participated in the course.

This initiative is part of the Ministry of Interior’s efforts to improve its employees’ knowledge on modern challenges. The course introduced the officers to the different types of synthetic drugs across the world, as well as their chemical components, the risks associated with them, and their devastating impacts on human health.
