With Eid drawing near, the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate called on families and parents to increase efforts to provide traffic safety during the Eid Al Fitr holidays. The directorate also urged community members to adhere to traffic laws and legal speeds, and warned them against talking on the phone or reading text messages while driving.

For his part, Brigadier Engineer Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police indicated that  a comprehensive plan was set up to intensify traffic patrols during Eid Al Fitr holidays on intersections, parks, external highways, and near slaughterhouses. These measures aim to ensure a smooth traffic flow and provide advice to motorists and all road users, via the Abu Dhabi Police traffic program to reduce traffic accidents on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.

Mugged Upon leaving an Abu Dhabi Bank

The Abu Dhabi Police managed to arrest a five-member Pakistani gang; two of whom robbed a young Emirati national under duress, in the Khalidiya region, Abu Dhabi, after leaving the bank, before fleeing the scene.

According to preliminary investigations, the main suspects caught the victim "F.A” (24 years old) off guard as she was leaving the bank. One of them attacked her from behind, covered her eyes with a ghutrah (scarf) and gagged her to prevent her from screaming for help. . In the meantime, the other mugger snatched her phone and purse (which contains cash, credit cards and other documents), causing her to lose balance and fall to the ground, before they fled the scene, taking cover in the neighboring buildings.
