The Ministry of Interior released a package of e- services for the civil defense, traffic and licensing departments with a view to complete transactions and to deliver the service electronically to the applicant. This is achieved by filling the required transaction data, paying the due fees, attaching the required documents, and delivering the complete transaction directly on the Internet, in accordance with the e-readiness standards of the UAE e-Government.
Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, inaugurated the new package of services, indicating that this measure comes in line with the implementation of the MOI’s strategic plan, which aims to keep abreast of the technological changes taking place in the world, and to take advantage of the modern technologies. This, in turn, aims to improve performance and simplify procedures, so as to enhance the quality of the services provided by the various Ministry units. It also is in keeping with the goal of implementing the e-government’s concept and shifting the MOI’s services to e-pattern, so as to embody the federal e-Government strategic plan (2012-2014).
Moreover, Major General Al Raisi gave a detailed overview of the package of 30 subsidiary and complementary services launched by the e-government, namely; services related to the Civil Defense in the area of issuing licenses to trading companies and expertise houses; security and safety measures for vehicles; in addition to announcing e-payment services for traffic violations and licensing. Concluding, he stressed the keenness to enhance the standard of the Ministry’s competitiveness in e-services, through multiple innovative channels based on achieving the customers’ demands.
