Lecture at the “Naturalization and Residency” on the occasion of Ramadan

With the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Media and Public Relations Section at the Naturalization Residency and Ports Affairs Department organized a religious lecture delivered by Sheikh Talib Mohamed Al Shehhi, Head of Preaching Department at the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments.

The lecture, which was held at Union Hall at the Naturalization Residency and Ports Affairs Department, comes in line with the systematic relationship with society. It is also part of the yearly religious activities’ program organized by the Section, to reflect the spiritual atmosphere of the holy month of Ramadan. It aims to spread religious awareness among staff members, acquaint them with the religious values and remind them of the importance of good deeds and obedience during the holy month of Ramadan.

Present at the lecture were the General Coordinator of Naturalization, Residency and Ports, Brigadier Mohammad Ghureir Al Rumaithi, along with a number of officers, non-commissioned officers, civilians and staff members from the Naturalization Residency and Ports Affairs Department.

In his lecture, Sheikh Al Shehhi shed light on the virtues of this holy month and the importance of coming close to Allah through benevolent work. He added: Ramadan is a month of repentance, forgiveness, and expiation of sins and evil deeds; it is the month of emancipation from Hellfire. When the month of Ramadan comes, the Gates of Heaven are thrown open and the Gates of Hell are shut, and the devils are put behind bars,” he said. . Furthermore, Al Shehhi indicated that Ramadan is the month of patience, and fasting is one of the greatest acts of worship is performed in Ramadan and the reward of patience is Paradise.

He emphasized the need to resort to Allah even in small matters, and called on people to take advantage of this holy month through good manners with public and private interests.

The lecturer also underscored the importance of Zakat and charity for the poor; Paradise; the means to come closer to Allah, and the need to read the Koran during this month. He also urged children to read the Holy Quran during Ramadan, encouraged them to memorize it and to pray.

At the end of the lecture, Brigadier Al Rumaithi honored Sheikh Talib Al Shehhi and thanked the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments for its efforts and attendance; emphasizing the Ministry of Interior’s keen interest to organize such activities and events, out of its firm belief in the importance of spreading awareness among staff members working in the Naturalization Residency and Ports Affairs sector.
