The "Friends of the Police” Program concluded its summer activities with the participation of 185 male and female students from the officers’ children, aged between 7 and 17 years. The closing ceremony was held at the Abu Dhabi Officers Club and attended by Colonel Arif Saif Al Shamesi, Head of Clubs and Sports Activities Department at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ; Colonel Saif Saeed Al Shamesi, Head of the Cultural and Social Activities; as well as a number of officers, civilians and parents.

In his address during the ceremony held to honor participating children, Colonel Al Shamesi noted that the Clubs and Sports Activities Department provides three similar programs throughout the year for officers’ children. In a ceremony held at his office, Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, awarded five officers their new ranks.  The officers, from the Directorate General of Central Operations, were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, and were included in the Ministerial Resolution No. 362 for the year 2013.

The Punitive & Correctional Establishments Department at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ defined the visiting hours for inmates in Al Ain and Al Wathba sections, as well as in Al Mafraq Juvenile Care Center during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Colonel Mohammed Saif Matar Al Zaabi, Director of the Punitive & Correctional Establishments noted that visitors who carry public prosecution permits will be able to visit inmates on Sundays throughout the month of Ramadan, between 9 am and 11:30 am, and between 11:45 am to 2 pm. Female visitors will be received on Mondays and Tuesdays between 9 am and 4 pm. Diplomatic staff (Embassies) will be able to visit inmates in Al Ain and Al Wathba jails on Wednesdays, between 9 am and 2 pm.

The Al Ain Police Directorate called on its officers, non-commissioned officers, civilians and staff at Al Jimi and Al Hayer Police Stations to seek  quality and improve  the services provided  to the public.

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO:6502) today announced the launch of "T4K37", a 1.12µm, 13 Megapixel BSI[1] CMOS image sensor with color noise reduction (CNR). Mass production starts today.

The integrated CNR circuit makes it possible for the product, fabricated with the industry's smallest class[2] 1.12µm pixel process, to achieve the same signal-to-noise ratio as equivalent products fabricated with 1.4µm pixel process.

The T4K37 also incorporates a high dynamic range (HDR) function that faithfully reproduces dark and bright areas in high contrast images. The product's high frame rate of 30 fps at full resolution reduces delays in imaging, resulting in less shutter lag, and allows continuous shooting.
