A Ministry of Interior’s delegation reviewed the Dubai Municipality experience and best practices in the area of knowledge. The delegation was led by Col. Dr. Matar Humaid Al Shamsi, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee for Knowledge at the Knowledge Center, affiliated to the Strategy and Performance Development Department at the Ministry of Interior.
Colonel Al Shamsi lauded the efforts of Dubai Municipality and its prominent position in the areas of excellence as a leading institution, which has been vitally instrumental in the Dubai Emirate’s growth and development. He indicated that the visit aims to undertake a standard comparison, in line with the external communication methodology, and drawing on best practices and successful experiences.
The visiting delegation was briefed on the organizational structure of the Knowledge Center, its strategy and objectives. It also discussed the task forces management mechanism as well as the innovation policy in the optimal use of resources, and the Knowledge Department’s vision. The delegation was also acquainted with the Knowledge Department’s methods to link with the Strategic Department, to analyze the knowledge gap; it reviewed the Knowledge Portal and the relevant mechanisms (internal and external), and plans to update and review the knowledge content; in line with e-government standards.
The Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee for Knowledge at the Ministry of Interior underscored the importance of exchanging experiences between the two sides, thereby promoting the development of services and administrative processes to spread cognitive awareness concepts, and facilitate the transfer and exchange of experiences and knowledge between employees.
The visiting delegation included Lt. Colonel Mansour al Gergawi, Director of the knowledge Department at Dubai Police; Major Buttai Mohammad, from the Knowledge Department at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ; Captain Musab Amir Al Sheryani, Head of the Knowledge Center for Ministry’s Affairs; and Lieutenant Hamid Mubarak Al Dhaheri from the Knowledge Centre for the Ministry of Interior’s Affairs.
