The Leadership Development and Creativity Center at the General Secretariat of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, has taken part in the 16th Congress of the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology held recently in Germany.
Major Dr. Omar Ibrahim Al Ali, Chief of the Competency Assessment Section in the center, presented a worksheet at the conference titled: "Individual differences and their role in predicting creative behavior.” More than 2,000 researchers and specialists in the field of functional and organizational psychology from various countries participated in the event.
The Ministry of Interior’s participation was based on the police leadership’s guidance and its commitment to promote the center’s position in international forums. The Ministry of Interior aims to take advantage of developments in science to develop work, elevate it to the highest levels, and maintain pace with changes and developments taking place in today’s world.
The worksheet reviewed the most important individual differences that affect creativity, including mental abilities, personality traits, the center of control, emotional intelligence and the self-effectiveness. He then displayed the field study’s results that indicated the ability to predict creative behavior through personality and intelligence tests equivalent to 30%.
The research received the audience’s appreciation in terms of scientific quality and its results that reflected the excellence and ambitious vision of the Ministry of Interior.
The conference is held once every two years and witnesses the participation of many researchers and practitioners in the functional and organizational psychology at the global level.
