Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior met in his office at the ministry, Colonel Abdul Rahim Bin Qasim Al Farsi Director General, General Administration for Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances at the Royal Oman Police, and the accompanying delegation, currently visiting the country.
During the meeting, a number of issues of mutual interest were discussed, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination to combat drugs between the Ministries of Interior of both the UAE and Sultanate of Oman.
The meeting was attended, on behalf of the UAE Ministry of Interior, by Colonel Saeed Al Suwaidi, Director General, Anti-Drug Federal Directorate General; Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Owais; Deputy Director General; Colonel Hussein Mahmoud Al Awadhi, Acting Director of Public Relations; Major Sultan Hareb Al Darmaki, from the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Interior, and a number of officers from the Anti-Drug Federal Directorate General. Also attending were Major Wadah bin Saleh Al Saadi; and Captain Suleiman bin Saif Al Tamimi, from the General Administration for Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, the Royal Oman Police.
Colonel Al Suwaidi had met the Omani delegation earlier today in Union Hall at the ministry. Both parties discussed a number of topics on the agenda, including the current developments in the fight against drugs; and underscored the importance of convening an annual meeting to communicate and exchange field visits between the anti-drugs agencies in both countries.
